confessions of a coach's wife
This is what our "good night daddy" looks like eight months out of the year.
With batting practice to throw, fields to drag, parents to listen to, lineups to be made, meetings to be had, oh and then there's the actual games, it's this sweet boy and I on our own until well into the evening, Monday through Friday. And Saturdays? If you're the parent of an athlete, you know exactly where that coach can be found every Saturday.
I'm extremely proud of the man I call by husband, while so many others refer to him as "coach." He inspires me every day. And on the flip side of all this time apart now, I know in a few short years this tiny version of him will be in the dugout retrieving bats and learning signs right alongside my Coach. And what makes for a happier little boy than getting to grow up on the field?
It's my hope that those who have the privilege, spend the time they get with this man to be their best - best student, best athlete, best fan, best parent, best opponent. Understand he's giving up so much of everything that makes his world go round...for you.

Confessions of a Coach's Wife is the product of my own longing for answers, advice, and affirmation that "I'm not the only one." It's more than a blog; it's a community of women just trying to get a grasp on life from the cheap seats, looking for shelter, refuge, and encouragement from one another. Join me on this journey!
